Make a Difference in our Community by becoming a Transition Coach to one of our Neighbors!
We Need You!
The Issue
For the first time in history, over 1 in every 100 Americans are under some form of correctional supervision.1 Furthermore, over 43% of those who are released from prison end up back in prison within three years, often for breaking the conditions of their release.2 The Indiana Department of Correction released 5,366 offenders to Marion County in 2010 (representing 25 percent of all releases that year).3
They are often released from prison with no support structure and few legitimate options. Most have no desire to return to their life of crime, but have no positive influences or role models in their lives.
Become involved in solving this issue facing our communities. We need dedicated men who can work with individuals returning to our local neighborhoods. By helping them set up plans while they are still in prison, and continuing to work with them after release, you can be a factor in their successful future. After receiving training from our Project Success program staff, you will work one-on-one with a returning neighbor and provide them an example of successful living.
